Overview
The Chair of the Health Technology Assessment (HTA) Consumer Consultative Committee (CCC), Adjunct Associate Professor Jo Watson, invites health consumers and health consumer organisations to a free webinar:
"Enhancing HTA - Consumer Inputs for HTA Committees' considerations"
HTA Committees include the Pharmaceutical Benefits Advisory Committee (PBAC) and the Medical Services Advisory Committee (MSAC).
11:00am – 12:30pm (AEST), Wednesday 23 July 2025
The webinar is designed to increase consumer knowledge and empower consumers to meaningfully participate and share valuable lived experience, evidence and input with HTA Committees.
Hear from current HTA committee members, with discussion focused on:
- Understanding what is considered at PBAC and MSAC meetings
- What to consider when preparing consumer input for medicines, vaccines or medical services
- Insights on consumer members' involvement in HTA decision-making.
Registrations to attend the webinar are open to:
- Health consumer and patient organisations, defined as: support groups and organisations that are community, health consumer and patient focused. Individuals living with a health condition and/or their carers will also represent a majority of members in their governing bodies. Relevant organisations include:
- General umbrella organisations (e.g. representing either disease-specific organisations and/or national umbrella organisations) and;
- Community, health consumer or disease specific organisations representing individual patients on acute and/or chronic diseases.
- Consumer members of a Department of Health and Aged Care HTA committee.
Registrations to attend the webinar are open until 11:59pm, Friday 18 July 2025.
