The department routinely shares consultation input with the PBAC and its subcommittees and with the applicant. The department shares:
Consultation input from groups/organisations in full, after redacting any personal information of third parties (if applicable).
Consultation input from individuals:
From time to time, the department may also share your consultation input with:
Other Health Technology Assessment Committees. If another HTA committee, such as the Medical Services Advisory Committee (MSAC), is reviewing the application, the department may share PBAC consultation input with that committee or its subcommittees. The department shares the input in the same format as provided to PBAC and its subcommittees.
Health Technology Assessment (HTA) Groups, to inform their reports to the PBAC. The department contracts HTA Groups to prepare documents that help PBAC with its deliberations. If HTA Groups receive copies of consultation input, it is in the same format as provided to the PBAC and its subcommittees.
Committee members and HTA Groups are subject to confidentiality obligations.
Publication of Summary
The department may publish a summary of consultation input on the PBS website as part of the Public Summary Document for the application. The summaries in these documents contain no personal information about individuals or third parties. The summaries may include the names of organisations who give input and may attribute views/comments to these organisations. Organisations should not include information or opinions in their input that they would not wish to see in the public domain.
Video or audio recordings
The department is unable to edit consultation input provided in video or audio form. As such, the department shares video or audio input:

from groups or organisations in full, with the PBAC, its subcommittees, and the applicant (unless it includes potentially identifying information about a third party).
- from individuals:
If video or audio input from a group, organisation, or individual includes potentially identifying information about a third party the department will share the input in a written, de-identified summary form with the PBAC, its subcommittees and the applicant. The summary will not identify individuals but may include the name of the submitting group or organisation (if applicable).
