EOI for feedback on consumer input
Event overview
The Office of Health Technology Assessment’s (OHTA) Consumer Evidence and Engagement Unit (CEEU) is exploring practical ways to provide consumers and consumer organisations with clear and consistent feedback about how their input is used in health technology assessment (HTA) processes and in HTA committee discussions.
As part of this work, we are conducting an online survey and having virtual conversations with consumer organisations that will focus on:
- what feedback consumers would find most useful after providing input to an HTA committee agenda item
- why this feedback matters
- when feedback would be most helpful in the HTA process
- how feedback should be provided
- what information is already available after committee meetings, and how this could be better explained or used.
Why your views matter
Consumers and consumer organisations have said they want clearer information about what happens after they provide input into an HTA. We refer to this as a “Feedback Loop”. Your views will help inform an approach that supports consumer engagement in HTA processes and improves transparency about how consumer input is considered.
Who should submit an Expression of Interest?
The virtual conversations are discussions for people from consumer organisations who already have some knowledge or experience of HTA. This may include people who have:
- provided consumer input to PBAC or MSAC processes within the last 3 years
- supported consumers or members of a consumer organisation to provide input
- used public HTA information, such as Public Summary Documents
- previously raised issues or suggestions about feedback on consumer input
- considered how a feedback loop would work in practice.
