Overview

The Chair of the Health Technology Assessment (HTA) Consumer Consultative Committee (CCC), Ms Jo Watson, is hosting a webinar for health consumers and health consumer organisations with an interest in HTA.

The two-hour webinar is titled “Enhancing Conversations – Reflections on an Extraordinary Year”. It will provide an opportunity to acknowledge some of the many highlights of the consumer sector during 2024 and look towards enhancing consumer engagement in HTA in 2025.

This free, virtual event will be held on Tuesday 10 December 2024, 10.30am – 12.30pm (AEDT).

Speakers will include representatives from consumer organisations, HTA Committees and the Department of Health and Aged Care’s Office of Health Technology Assessment.

Registrations to attend the webinar are open to:

  • Individual patients or carers with experience of living with a particular condition and demonstrated experience or an active interest in engaging with HTA.
  • Health consumer and patient organisations, defined as: support groups and organisations that are community, health consumer and patient focused. Individuals living with a health condition and/or their carers will also represent a majority of members in their governing bodies. Relevant organisations include:
    • General umbrella organisations (e.g. representing either disease-specific organisations and/or national umbrella organisations) and;
    • Community, health consumer or disease specific organisations representing individual patients on acute and/or chronic diseases.
    • Consumer members of a Department of Health and Aged Care HTA committee.

Registrations to attend the webinar are open until 11:59pm, Friday 6 December 2024.
